Welcome to Arts Aware  

ArtsAware is a forum for the exploration of creative process. Process is the route shared by all creative making: selecting form, selecting content, choosing materials, exploring intention and motivation, achieving closure. ArtsAware aims to provide a space for learning about forms of creative expression and how they interrelate. We invite a guest artist to introduce us to their own unique creative process or, occasionally, our meetings centre on some specific creative work for example, the myth of Icarus or classical sculpture. We actively promote a discerning and critical approach to the appraisal of art and the artistic method.

Who Are We?

We are a group of professional and amateur artists and of people interested in exploring creativity and how it impacts on their lives. We welcome new members from any or no artistic background who may wish to attend regularly or occasionally.  

Meetings

We meet the on the first Thursday of the month except January, July and August.  

Venue

The Seven Oaks Hotel Conference Room (Usually The Rossmore Room), Athy Road, Carlow, Ireland.

Time

7.30pm-9.30pm  

Fee

We charge €10 for attendance. This covers room hire and a nominal gratuity for a visiting artist. We are part funded by the Carlow Local Authority Arts Act grants 2006.
